The Rooth Family's Session at Bauer Park in Madison, CT

Jennifer and I go way back to when we all lived in Florida. When we moved to Connecticut earlier this year, I was so surprised and excited to hear that she moved here as well to be closer to family. Of course, we had to get together for updated family photos! Her little ones, Claire and David have grown so big and it was awesome being able to see them again after such a long time. We went to Baur Park in Madison and strolled through the leaves that have fallen and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

Krista & Ian's Latitude 41 Wedding in Mystic, CT

Ian first reached out to me about his and Krista's wedding day, which took me by surprise since I normally hear from the bride. It was such a pleasant surprise, as I got to chat a little with both of them before we started planning photography for their big day. At the time they reached out, I was still living in Boston, and they live just south. It was such a nice coincidence, as they were having their wedding just minutes away from where I was moving to.

Lily's First Birthday Cake Smash

In honor of Lily's 4th birthday, I wanted to feature her first birthday cake smash today on the blog. I met Lily while living in Maine a few years back. Her parents were stationed and living in the same area as us. Lily's mother reached out to me around the time of her first birthday and asked if I could accommodate a cake smash. I was so excited! There's nothing more fun than seeing a baby dig their hands into a birthday cake for the first time. Lily was no exception!

Rebekah & Emerson's Mommy and Me Session at Buttonwood Farm, Griswold, CT

Since we moved to Connecticut, I kept hearing about the beautiful sunflower fields that were tucked away in the country side just shy of Norwich. I knew I had to go out there and photograph the flowers in all their glory. Rebekah is a sweet friend of mine who I met when asking for a local sitter. She quickly became a friend of mine, and I knew that she and her daughter would be perfect models for my sunflower experiment. We had a blast strolling through the isles of sunflowers, watching the children ride the tractor and smelling the delicious waffle cones for the local ice cream in the air. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees and it seemed as if the sun was smiling down on us.  If you're ever in the area, make sure to stop by Buttonwood Farms in Griswold, CT for a fun family evening.
