Alli & Billy's Lace Factory, Deep River Wedding
When I made the move to Connecticut, all the local wedding vendors were telling me about how wonderful The Lace Factory was, and how I would be very lucky to photograph a wedding there. Little did they know, Alli & Billy had asked me earlier in the year if I'd be interested in photographing their wedding that just so happened to be at The Lace Factory. I was ecstatic! Not only was I excited to spend the day and photographing this great couple, but I was also getting a chance to photograph this beautiful venue.
Originally, Alli & Billy met while in grad school at Fordham University. They eventually were engaged while visiting the Rockerfeller Center. They were on the rooftop at sunset. How romantic!
The day started out with the bride and bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done at Salon154, and the groomsmen getting ready down the street at a local hotel. When I met Alli and her bridesmaids at The Lace Factory, they made sure to have a champagne toast to commence the day. After Alli slipped into her wedding dress, we stepped outside so that her and Billy could have a moment together and share a first look.
After a few tearful kisses during their first look, Alli & Billy headed down to the train tracks to have some portraits taken. (Don't worry! The tracks are for an extremely slow dinner train that can be heard a mile away.) We then headed down to the water to take some breath taking photos there as well. Afterwards, their bridal party joined us. It was a little tricky to maneuver around the dinner train, as it was time for passenger pick up and drop off. The bridal party was amazing and we were able to capture some great portraits of everyone together.
When we were through, we headed back to The Lace Factory for the ceremony. Alli's grandmother officiated and it was an absolutely beautiful ceremony. After Alli & Billy shared their first kiss, it was time for family photos and cocktail hour. Horderves were passed and everyone enjoyed the signature cocktail of the evening, mojitos (Alli's favorite!).
Dinner was served shortly after the introductions and first dance. The party was started shortly after and everyone made sure to head to the dance floor to boogey the night away. I stole Alli & Billy away for a few moments to take some photos just after sunset under the twinkle lights in the courtyard where they had held their ceremony earlier.
All in all, Alli & Billy's wedding was absolutely beautiful and one that I'll never forget. Every detail was thoughtfully cared for and all the vendors helped make their wedding day that much more special. Congratulations, Alli & Billy, and thank you for having me capture your beautiful wedding!
