Linda & Dan's Charlestown, Rhode Island Waterfront Wedding

Linda and Dan's wedding day was full of tears, laughter, and love. It was a truly beautiful day that was celebrated by all of their closest family and friends. Originally planned to be much larger, Linda and Dan decided to go for a more intimate wedding located at a close friend's home in Charlestown, Rhode Island. They made a fantastic choice! Everything was perfect, from the ceremony to the portraits to the reception. Linda is an event planner; all her hard work and organization definitely shined through.

It all started with a beautiful engagement! It was raining out that day, but Dan insisted that Linda had to be free and that they had to go on a picnic. They drove to the top of East Rock Park and set up their picnic under the pavilion overlooking New Haven. Normally, East Rock Park would be packed with people, but it was raining so no one was there. They were both nervous. After what seemed like forever, Dan proposed and Linda obviously said YES! They cried, kissed, and hugged. Later that evening, Dan "surprised" Linda with an engagement party at the bar where they first met, Vinny's.

Linda and Dan's wedding day started with the ladies having their hair/makeup done upstairs with the guys getting ready downstairs. After all the final touches of Linda's hair were complete, she slipped into her beautiful gown. She and the bridesmaids followed me outside to take some portraits out in the garden, facing the water. Shortly after, I brought the groomsmen outside to do the same.

The ceremony was complete with two traditions bringing two cultures together, a unity rope knotting for Linda's Mexican heritage and a breaking of glass ceremony for Dan's Jewish heritage. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd as Linda and Dan shared their hand written vows with each other. After they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, everyone cheered in excitement.

We headed to the waterfront to take portraits of the bridal party and of the bride/groom. Ellie, their Ridgeback puppy, made an appearance for some of the photos. Linda took off her shoes and we made sure to take some beautiful portraits of her relaxing on the large rocks right on the water front.

After we finished, we headed back to the house to start the reception. Everyone entered in style to the tune of "Give it Away" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Dinner was served family style, with dishes passed amongst the tables. Beautiful, heart felt toasts were shared by the brother of the groom and Linda's best friend, as well as Dan's mother. After cutting the cake, Linda and Dan took to the dance floor to share their first dance, shortly followed by the father/daughter, mother/son dances.

Linda and Dan's wedding was absolutely perfect and I am so honored to have had the opportunity to capture all their special moments during their day.  Congratulations to the happy couple! I hope you two enjoy your honeymoon in Mexico!
