Paige & Alan's Owenego Inn & Beach Club Wedding in Brandford, CT
Paige & Alan's wedding day was not only beautiful, but unique! Their ceremony was full of surprises, as well as special traditions. Their wedding took place at the beautiful Owenego Inn & Beach Club on a beautiful September afternoon.
Their engagement story is absolutely romantic! A few weeks after they started seeing each other, Paige moved to Nashville for her first nursing job, which meant a long distance relationship for the two. They planned an awesome cruise vacation in Puerto Rico. On the night Alan proposed, he told Paige they should go get ready for dinner so they could hang out on the beach for a little while and see the sunset. Alan had them walk to a tiny area where a spot light was shining down on a small rock cliff overlooking the water. He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Paige's initial response was "my dad is going to kill you!" She didn't think he had asked her parents- which Alan knew was very important to Paige. Alan then explained to her how he met them out for dinner back a few months prior and had kept the secret ever since. How beautiful!
Paige & Alan started their day off getting ready by having their hair/makeup done at a local salon and slipped into their dresses back at the inn. After putting on all the finishing touches, Paige headed out front to share a special moment with Alan, a first look!
After their intimate few moments alone, the bridal party joined in for some portraits in front of the inn. Paige & Alan headed out to the water to take some breathtaking photos in front of the ocean, as well.
Next, it was time for a fun, surprised filled ceremony. Their ceremony was officiated by Paige's aunt. She included in her ceremony a game of rock, paper, scissors, as well as a song above l-o-v-e. Paige & Alan participated in a sand unity ceremony, where sand was collected from different people in the crowd. When it was time to place the rings on their fingers, the rings were passed around and blessed by family members.
After their beautiful ceremony, the couple participated in a few family photos, including the photo of Paige's brother who couldn't be there as he is away serving our country. Then it was time to enjoy the cocktail hour! The bridal party was introduced shortly after in style to the reception, and it was all fun times from there. Everyone enjoyed a night full of great food & drinks, laughter and even a little Irish dancing!
Congratulations, Paige & Alan! Your wedding was absolutely beautiful and full of so many special moments. I wish you two nothing but the best and happiness!
A special thank you to Jessica Parsons, an associate and dear friend of mine, for photographing this beautiful wedding. Paige and Alan's wedding was the last wedding during my maternity leave, and as much as it broke my heart to miss this day, I knew that they were in great hands with Jessica.
